Teamwork - Nice or Necessary, Life or Death?
Few would consider the presence or absence of the trust between a leader and her team a matter of life or death. But I was reminded of the truth of this statement while talking with the Captain of the volunteer firemen at Lake Tahoe not far from where I live in northern Nevada. While listening to a story Curt was telling me about the challenges presented by property owners who refuse to evacuate homes threatened by wildfires, I thought of "Young Men and Fire" a book written by Norman McLean about the1949 Mann-Gulch fire in Montana where sixteen smoke jumpers (the elite of the US Forest Service) parachuted in to fight the fire and within two hours, only three were alive. McClean, a resident of Wyoming spent years researching the deaths of these fine young men. What McClean learned and published in his book has changed the training and rules for fire fighters throughout the world. ...»

Team Building: Meaning Motivates
Team building is too often looked upon as "some things" to do instead of "some ones" to become. Teams are composed of people, not parts like a machine. Does Teamwork in Problem Solving Make You Smarter - Team Success, a Book Review
"Together Everyone Accomplishes More" TEAM or so the most fitting acronym would have us believe.
